Located in the prestigious Lakewood area of Dallas, this classic Georgian home, on a lot measuring almost 1/3 acre, was originally built in 1938 on land rich in Dallas history which was originally part of the old McCommas homestead. It was exquisitely remodeled down to the framing and masonry by Lexington Luxury Builders from 2004-2007 as the Builder’s personal residence insuring that no detail was overlooked.

Extensive insulation (even under the floors) was added, all wiring was replaced and run through metal conduit, plumbing was replaced, as was all heating and air conditioning, including new duct work. Brick was expertly cut to accommodate a full window replacement with Weathershield High Efficiency casement windows. Motorized, active foundation vents were added and the roof (including all decking, vents and insulation) was removed and replaced with Atlas Class 4, Storm Resistant roof shingles, qualifying the home for discounted homeowners insurance.

A new wing of approximately 2,000 square feet was added to the home in 2004-2005, on a pier & beam foundation to maintain authenticity. An advanced framing system was employed and two new independent heating and air conditioning zones were added, each with an integrated humidifier and advanced air filtration system. On the first floor, the Kitchen was completely redesigned and expanded, and an enormous Family Room was added. On the second floor, a professionally designed Master Suite with spa-like Bath and Dressing Areas, and magnificent closet spaces were realized.

The exterior was not overlooked. Improvements made to the exterior include a motor court, which will accomodate up to 8 automobiles, iron privacy gates for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic and iron fencing across the entire front of the property. A custom blue-grey plaster heated pool, with nine fountains, limestone coping, blue granite edging, sun tanning deck and state-of-the-art salt water system was built. Landscaping and a 16 zone irrigation system were installed, and the foundation for a future cabana with entertainment wiring along with electric, gas and water for an Outdoor Kitchen was also built.
